After Marc Chagall
For Chagall, the circus is much more than just a show: it's a theater of life, where clowns and acrobats embody both lightness and human fragility. The artist recalls his childhood memories in Russia, where traveling circuses fed his imagination. The yellow clown, turned towards the spectator, becomes the conduit to a bygone era, when the innocence and enchantment of the acrobats echoed the dreams of a young Chagall. He connects the spectator to a living past, where acrobats are carried along by the cheers of the crowd.
