Follow Servanne LE JAMTEL
Servanne Le Jamtel, born in 1962 in Brittany, has always been driven by an indomitable passion for art. Despite limited interest in traditional schooling until the age of 16, she fervently devoted herself to drawing, painting, and photography.
Her artistic calling found fertile ground with the opening of the Chateau de la Roche Jagu cultural center in Côtes d'Armor. This marked the beginning of her career as a lighting technician, collaborating on memorable jazz concerts with artists such as Henri Texier, Michel Petrucciani, and Louis Sclavis, and on renowned contemporary art exhibitions, highlighting the works of Anne and Patrick Poirier, Bill Woodrow, David Mach, and Jean-Jacques Dournon. These events were held both inside the castle and outdoors in its park.
Subsequently, Servanne Le Jamtel expanded her lighting expertise to the Nostradamus theater in Salon de Provence, and then to the theater in Saint-Brieuc, Côtes d'Armor. A chance encounter with a cinematographer led her to Paris, where she embraced various technical roles in cinema. She worked as an electrician and 35mm camera assistant on feature films, commercials (notably for Jean-Baptiste Mondino and Chanel), and numerous music videos.
In parallel, she contributed to the filmed lighting of several contemporary art exhibitions at the Centre Georges Pompidou. Around the age of 30, her desire to paint resurfaced. She then joined a film decoration team and became a set decorator, a world she has not left since.
Her talent for painting was recognized during her first exhibition in Paris in 1997 in a framing workshop, which was a resounding success. This event consolidated her artistic journey and reinforced her love for painting. Since then, she has held several exhibitions in Paris and the provinces.
Currently, Servanne Le Jamtel has a studio near Fontainebleau, where she continues to passionately explore her art.
