In Back, Arthur Luiz Piza explores the tension between abstraction and materiality. The white triangle, which seems to emerge from the paper, symbolizes a return to a raw, primitive essence, where matter becomes palpable. In contrast, the black semicircular shape embodies rigor and order. This dialogue between forms suggests that abstraction, far from freeing itself from matter, constantly returns to it, reminding us that all creation is inextricably linked to its materiality, even in its apparent purity. Back thus becomes a reflection on how form and texture come together in a continuous quest for meaning.
