Black varnished wood jewelry box with stamped earthenware lid, blue and green enameled floral motif and cracked gilding
A jewelry box created as a tribute to the American musician and composer Sidney Bechet, by one of the leading figures in 20th-century French ceramics, who turned her art into an ode to femininity. Here she elaborates a delicate blue tulip motif in enamel, edged with crackled gold.
