From 1965 onwards, Pierre Alechinsky explored new artistic avenues by incorporating acrylic paint into his practice. This medium, which was more fluid and quicker to dry, gave him greater freedom. Influenced by his trip to Japan and his fascination with oriental calligraphy, he enriched his compositions with sinuous curves and dynamic lines, where each brushstroke reflected the energy of his imagination. This period marked a decisive stage in his career, when his visual language became freer, more vibrant and resolutely open to experimentation.
