Roger Bissière explores a universe that is both abstract and poetic. Stars and black leaves are set against a midnight-blue background, dotted with touches of orange and gold, creating a visual effect reminiscent of light filtered through a stained-glass window. This influence is deeply engraved in Bissière's creations. It has its roots in the art of stained glass, which Bissière explored in the 1950s, imbuing his works with a subtle interplay of transparency, opacity and brilliance. The forms unfold in a vertical, dynamic composition, evoking a dreamlike, poetic world.
