This black-and-white composition pays tribute to the famous character of Don Quixote from the novel written by the Spaniard, Miguel de Cervantes. He drew his inspiration from the adventures of the novels, particularly the Chanson de Roland, which shaped his character and his quest for the absolute ideal of chivalry. The work was part of an album created for an exhibition at the Maurice Garnier gallery in Paris, held from February 2 to March 31, 1989.
