In the tradition of analytical cubism, Zadkine fragments the human figure with a subtle interplay of broken lines and flat colors. Silhouettes overlap and blend, evoking both decomposition and fusion. Pale shades of blue, pink and yellow lend softness, but also a certain tension to the composition.
